Donald Lee Deaton, age 55, of Sunshine, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born on August 21, 1970, the beloved son of the late Donald Deaton and Phyllis Deaton.
Donald had a deep love for history and enjoyed collecting World War II memorabilia. He also had a lifelong passion for cars, spending countless hours admiring them. Those who knew him remember his humor, quiet strength, and the way his eyes lit up when talking about his favorite finds or sharing stories from the past.
He is survived by his loving children:
Brittany Deaton and husband Jon Wilson, and grandchildren Olivia Wilson, Easton Wilson, Zachariah Wilson, and Sarah Wilson, as well as great-grandson Weston Tate;
Mariah Brooke Deaton, and grandchildren Cooper Mark Rowe and Brecklyn Kay Grace Fuson;
Tiffany Collins and Chris Collins (son-in-law), and grandchildren Sebastian Tyler Collins, Chandler Lee Collins, and Wynter Kate Collins.
He is also survived by his brother, Barney Edward Deaton, his aunt, Bonnie Deaton, and cousins Leslie Brooke Marlin and Jennifer Marlin, along with many special friends and other relatives who will miss him dearly.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Deaton and Phyllis Deaton grandparents Virginia Rains Deaton and Barney Edward Deaton, Virgil Hampton and Bitha Hampton Williams, his sister Vicki Deaton, and uncle Morris Deaton.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him — a man with a collector’s soul, a storyteller’s heart, and a father’s unshakable love.
Cremation was chosen and A memorial service may be planned for a later date.
