Donald Bennett

Donald Lee Bennett, 73 of Somerset, Kentucky formerly of Harlan Co. went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2025 at his home.

Donald was born on February 25, 1952 to the late Carl and Goldie Davis Bennett in Harlan, Kentucky. He worked in the coal mines for many years. Donald gave his heart to the Lord in 1977 at House of Prayer in Putney, Pastor Johnny Blevins.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Preston Lee Bennett, 6 siblings; Ronnie, Iris, Lawrence, Tom, Ed, and Stanley Bennett, and special brother-in-laws, James and Johnny Blevins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gerema Blevins Bennett, his son, Donald J. Bennett, adopted daughters, Victoria Jade Bennett and Lillian Rose Bennett, special nieces and nephews; April (Tim) Ackerman, Scarlett Blevins, Adam Blevins, Wanda Geran, Winston Stewart, Travis Blevins, Milton, James and Ronnie Bennett, Jr. He also leaves behind numerous friends and extended family members to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be on Monday (June 30) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Sunny Acres First Church of God.

Funeral services will follow on Monday (June 30) at 1:00 pm at Sunny Acres First Church of God with Rev. Arnold Martin and Rev. Stanley Blevins officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral services on Monday (June 30) in the Tway Cemetery in Tway, Kentucky.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Bennett, Adam Blevins, Travis Blevins, Winston Stewart, Timothy Ackerman, and Sean McCormick.
