Delmas "DW" Wayne Baker

Delmas Wayne "DW" Baker age 48 of Richmond KY, Formerly of Harlan KY passed away on Friday Jan 9th, 2026 at Baptist Health, in Lexington, KY.

DW was born on February 27th, 1977 in Harlan, KY to the late Wayne and Mary Jones Baker. He was a Flight medic for Air Evac, former medic for Mountain EMS, Harlan EMS, and Knox County EMS. Over the years DW had served as a member of the Harlan, Sunshine, Whitehall Fire Departments and gave many years of service to the Harlan County Rescue Squad. DW was a member of the Harlan Baptist Church, while living in Richmond he attended First Baptist Church of Richmond,

In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his grandparents John and Elsie Baker and Delmas and Bessie Jones.

Surviving is wife Christy Johnson Baker of Richmond, KY; his sons, Caleb Baker of Midway, KY and Braxton Baker Richmond, KY; He was Papaw to Lincoln Coffman. Also surviving are cousins Melody Baker of Florida, Dana Church of Florida, Jeff Hartman Baker of California, Rhonda Rice of Winchester KY, John Baker of Elizabethtown KY, He leaves a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Saturday January 17, 2026 at Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.

A Celebration of DW's life will be at 1:00 pm Saturday January 17, 2026 pm at the funeral home with Brother Dan Durham officiating.
