Delbert Bargo, Sr., 85 of Thompsonville, Illinois, formerly of Cawood, Kentucky, died Monday, July 28, 2025, at his residence.             

Born February 7, 1940, in Yancey, Kentucky, Delbert was the son of the late Clark and Linda Bargo. He moved to southern Illinois in 1963, to work at Freeman United Coal, where he worked approximately 25 years. He enjoyed piddling in his workshop, living on his farm, and spending time with his family. Delbert was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Lynn Bargo; his second wife, Eunice McKay Bargo; special son-in-law, Kenny Duncan; stepson, Rocky McKay; brothers, Royal Bargo, Vernon Bargo and wife, Janice; sister-in-law, Doris Bargo; and sister, Sue Bargo.

Surviving are his family members from southern Illinois: His loving wife of 9 years, Crystal Emery Bargo; children, Delbert Bargo, Jr.; Deanna (Alan) Duncan; Jenny (Carl) Hall; Kathryn (Chris) Medlin; Dawn Morris; and Luke Bargo. He is also survived by stepchildren, Clinton (Tori) Hubbs; Caitlin (Dennis) Taul; and Kelsey (Nick) Boles. Grandchildren, Ryan (Emily) Duncan, their children Eric and Aurora Duncan; Kevin (Emiley) Hall, their children Karley and Jaxon; Destin Marshall; Shelby (Kyle) Parks, their son, Gideon; and Jake Morris. Step-grandchildren, David (Heather) Morris, their children Nolan, Drake and Mia; Jasper Hubbs; Bella and Madi Taul; and Nathan Boles.

He is also survived by his brothers, Ottis (Wanda) Bargo of Ohio; Bruce (Pat) Bargo of Illinois; and Leon Bargo of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Eva Bargo, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside visitation and services will be Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, Kentucky. The Rev Tim Bargo will officiate the services. The family requests that attendees dress casually in their favorite jeans, bib overalls, etc.
