Daniel Jurmu, 61, of Cawood, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 03, 2026. He was born on April 25, 1964, in Detroit, MI to the late Clifford Jurmu and Carolyn Jurmu.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his brother David Jurmu.

Daniel was a devoted father and grandfather, a loving husband, and a supportive brother. He believed in the Christian faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who had talents of craftmanship and creative home improvements. He helped countless people throughout his life and never asked for anything in return.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Engle Jurmu of Harlan KY, his five children, Micheal Jurmu, Thomas Jurmu and wife, Sharon Jurmu, Kasi Howard, Airiel Nolan, and McKenna Jurmu; and one grandchild, Oliver Jurmu. His siblings Cherie Jurmu and husband, Ray Lasanen, Peggy Jurmu and husband, David Lewis, Doug Jurmu and wife, Janelle Jurmu, and Sarah Jurmu and husband, Alan Anderson. His special friends Tom and Bennie Engle. He has a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who also survive.

Memorial services will be held at the family home for close friends and relatives on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 12:00 pm with Rev. Gary Grubbs officiating.

Entombment will follow at 1:00 pm at the Engle & Jurmu Cemetery.
