Curtis Chalmer "Buddo" Browning

Curtis Chalmer "Buddo" Browning 92 of the Sunshine community of Harlan passed away Friday evening of September 11, 2026 at the Harlan ARH.

Buddo was born June 5, 1934 in Harlan to the late Maynard Chalmer and Mary Rains Browning. He joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17 in 1951 he proudly served for 20 years retiring in 1971, during that time he served terms in Korean War and Vietnam War as a Combat Medic. After coming back home to Harlan, he ended up retiring from the Harlan Municipal Water Co. He attended the Sunshine Baptist Church.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Ramona Morrow Browning; his 2nd wife June Mills Browning who passed away September 6, 2015; and his daughter, Jeannie Jones.

He is survived by his children, Sue Ann (John) Hicks of Piqua, OH and Jeff Mills of Sunshine; 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren along with his beloved church family at Sunshine Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday September 15, 2026 at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Moore officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Michelle Doss.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday September 16, 2026 at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery just prior to service time.
