Claudella Simpson, 72 of Dayhoit, KY passed away early Monday morning of November 23, 2020 at the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Claudella was born June 18, 1948 in McRoberts, KY to the late Edley and Ella Mae Brown Brashear. She was a retired Registered Nurse with the Harlan Co. Health Department. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and a good cold Coca-Cola.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Delmer Lee Simpson; husband, Delray Simpson; brothers, Burt and Elmer Brashear; sisters, Wanda Brashear, and Doralyn Hurt.
She is survived by her loving children, Chris (Michelle) Simpson of Baxter; Jackie (Charlie) Saylor of Coldiron; grandchildren, Aaron Simpson, Taylor Simpson, Andrew Saylor, and Haven Saylor; her sisters, Elaine (Carl) Champagne of Utah, Nancy (Ron) Calhoun of Jasper, TN, and Julia Brashear of Versailles, KY; she leaves a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Due to the Mandate set forth by Governor Andy Beshear on Nov. 20, 2020 the family will have a Private Graveside service at Resthaven Cemetery on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 with her nephew, Craig Simpson speaking.
In Lieu of flowers the family would like memorials be sent to the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Activity Fund, PO Box 895 Harlan, KY 40831 in memory of Claudella.
