Charles Gentry, 95 of Harlan passed away on Sunday January 20, 2019 at the Harlan ARH.
Charles was born January 4, 1924 in Evarts, KY to the late Oscar and Martha Middleton Gentry. He was a retired Coal Miner and had served his Country during World War II as a Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ginseng.
Beside his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Gentry; children, Charles “Butch” Gentry, Brenda Day, and Bill Gentry; granddaughter, Crystal Gentry; several siblings.
He is survived by his children, Margaret “Boots” (Bill, Sr.) Dean of Loyall, Jacquline Clayborn of Coldiron, Mike Gentry of Georgia, Tony (Mary Lou) Gentry of Cranks, Linda (Daniel) Belcher of Stoney Fork, Wanda Irvin of Crittenden, KY and Martha “Bitsy” Humpert of Harrodsburg, KY.; he leaves 20 grandchildren, host of great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Wednesday (Jan. 23) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday (Jan. 23) in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Freeman Clark officiating.
Burial will follow in the Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins with Grandsons serving as Pallbearers. Military Rites will be observed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
