William Morgan Fee, known lovingly to all as Bill, was born on March 25, 1939, in Putney, Kentucky to Morgan Fee and Ruby Murl Willis, and departed this life on June 21, 2026, in Hillard, Florida, leading a life that was impactful in all the ways that matter most. He lived with a sturdy heart and a lively wit, and in his many years he proved himself a man of usefulness, devotion, and plainspokenness. Though death closed his earthly chapter, the memory of his spirit shall go on as a bright candle that time cannot dim.

  Bill was the beloved husband of Shirley Marie Fee for 52 years, and together they shared a bond marked by steadfastness and affection.

  He was a devoted father to Bettina Lynn Stewart, Melissa Fee Back, Stephanie Dawn Arrington, and Glen Fee, and in each of their lives he left the imprint of a man who was a straight shooter, a hard worker, and who loved his family. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Alan Kelly. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who shall carry forth his memory, his strength, and his good counsel. In their company, and in the company of all who loved him, his presence was undeniable.

  He was one of many in a close and enduring family, and the ties of kinship were among the treasures of his days. He is survived by four sisters and Two brothers, Anna Gae Fee Moore, Charlotte Bland, Glenn Creech, Harold Browning, Ann Thompson, and Linda Boyle. He was preceded in death by his step mother, Kathleen "Kat" Fee. Through the years, he shared in the fellowship of family with the loyalty of a man who knew the worth of his roots. From Putney, Kentucky, he carried the temper of the hills and the steadiness of those who are shaped by honest labor and strong bonds, and these qualities remained with him wherever his road did lead.

  Bill pursued his education at Loyall High School, where the foundations of his character were laid among lessons both in the classroom and beyond it. His life’s work was marked by industry and perseverance; he left Kentucky on a bus at the age of 19 with very little to his name. With hard work he eventually owned and operated a Shell gas station for twenty-five years, serving his community with diligence and reliability. He was known as a man who could be counted upon, who others respected with practical skill and a ready willingness to help.

  Beyond his work, Bill found joy in activities such as fishing and coon hunting; these were among his most cherished interests, and in those pursuits, he found both peace and companionship. There is a noble kind of contentment in such things, where the waters are still, the night air is keen. Bill was spirited, interesting, and handy which gave him his unique character. He lived with a sturdy heart and a lively wit, and in his many years he proved himself a man of usefulness, devotion, and plainspokenness. Though death closed his earthly chapter, the memory of his spirit shall go on as a bright candle that time cannot dim.

  Those who knew Bill shall remember his spirited nature, his interesting ways, and his handy touch, for he was the sort of man who could mend what was broken, steady what was uncertain, and lighten a room with his humor. He was not a man of empty show, but of substance and sincerity. His days were filled with work, family, and the honest pleasures that give a life its shape and meaning. In him there was strength and humor that gave him his unique and unforgettable presence.

  Now, as the sun hath set upon his earthly journey, let those who loved him hold fast to the good and faithful memory of William Morgan Fee. Let them remember the husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Let them remember the man who labored well, who loved his family, and who found joy in the simple gifts of life. Though he is gone from sight, he is not gone from the hearts of those who cherish him. For such a life, lived with purpose and warmth, remaineth a blessing long after the final farewell.

   Memorial services will be held at 5:00 pm on August 7, 2026 at the Putney Baptist Church, Putney, KY.

   Private burial will be at the Fee Cemetery at Putney.
