Bettye Grant Moody, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of grace, strength, and enduring love. She was born on January 4, 1938, in Barbourville, Kentucky, the cherished daughter of Omer Grant and Lydia Parrot.
Bettye’s life was rooted in devotion to her family and a quiet resilience that touched all who knew her. Her warm heart and unwavering support were the foundation of her family, and her memory will live on through those she loved so deeply.
Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kenneth (Ken) Moody and her daughter, Susan Michelle Moody.
She is survived by her loving son, Kenneth Grant Moody; her adored granddaughter, Lauren Moody Dickens; grandson, Julian Adams; and her treasured great-grandson, Atticus James Dickens. She also leaves behind her devoted sister, Joyce Anne Fox, who shared a lifetime of memories and sisterhood.
Bettye's passing marks the end of a beautiful chapter, but her spirit continues in every life she touched. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be on Thursday (June 19) from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Harlan Baptist Church.
Funeral services will follow on Thursday (June 19) at 2:00 pm at the Harlan Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Haywood officiating and Rev. Jon Dickenson reading the obituary.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, Kentucky.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Moody, Phil Fox, Marcus Fox, Julian Adams, Carl Moody, and Lauren Dickens.
