Benny Turner, 73, of Bledsoe Ky, passed away at Dry Branch, his favorite place on Earth, Sunday July 26, surrounded by his loved ones.

  Benny was born in Louisville, KY on April 11, 1953. He spent most of his life in Harlan County where he was a Coal Miner. He later worked for Green Hills Water District for many years. He also was a Veteran serving in The US Navy for six years. Benny was a strong believer in the Baptist faith.

  He is preceded in death by his parents Otto Turner and June Lewis Turner. His Granddaughter Amelia Jones.

  Benny is survived by his wife of 45 years, Henrietta Turner. His son Benjamin Turner and daughter Amanda (Thomas Shelburne). His grandchildren Nathan Shelburne, Bentleigh Shelburne, Maisyn Shelburne, Sutton Shelburne, and Silas Shelburne. His brother Michael Turner and sisters Sandra Harris and Bonnie Gross. Benny leaves behind three special friends Eli Sparkman, Jimmy Callahan, and Henry Simpson.

  Visitation will be 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Friday July 31 at Anderson Laws and Jones Funeral Home.

  Memorial Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel at Anderson Laws and Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Clifton Caldwell and Pastor Ken Smith.

   In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
