Almond Shackleford, 79 of Fresh Meadows passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at his home. He was born April 13, 1935 in Harlan Co., KY. He had lived in Shelbyville, KY, Tazewell, TN and Harlan, KY.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Geneva Thomas Shackleford; a brother, Donald Shackleford.
Survivors include his wife, Alafair Shackleford; sons, Almond “Butch” Shackleford, Jr., Kevin Alen (Audrey) Shackleford; daughters, Judy (Earl) White all of Fresh Meadows and Connie Shackleford of Sevierville, TN.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Christopher Shackleford of Louisville, Leslie Scott, Lucas Belcher, Amanda Saylor, Wesley White, David White, Cole White all of Harlan, and Melissa Lawson and Amanda Queen of Sevierville, TN.
Visitation will be Monday (May 19) from 5 until 7:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. James Earl Hensley officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday (May 20) at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
