Billy Don Cottrell, Sr

Billy Don Cottrell, Sr 75 of Wallins passed away Monday afternoon of March 20, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.
Don was born March 6, 1948 in Harlan Co., KY to the late Arthur Eugene and Virginia Daniels Cottrell. He was a carpenter by trade, but enjoyed gardening, fishing and sitting on his Porch in Terry's Fork. He believed in the Pentecostal Faith.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by Arthur, Jr, Jerry Cottrell, and Curtis Eugene Cottrell; sister, Tave Blanton and her husband Eugene; niece, Kristie Link; nephews, Arthur Cottrell and Jamie Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Cottrell of Wallins; children, Billy Don (Amy) Cottrell, Jr of Wallins, Sheila (Brian) Witt of Harlan, Melissa of Hulen, William Donald Cottrell and Derek Cottrell both of Cumberland and Steve Cottrell of Middlesboro; step children, Rachel Brock and Leisha (Calvin) Long all of Cumberland; 19 grandchildren, including he was raising as his own, Aubree and Kaedance; and 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Ella Wren, David Cottrell, Rosetta (Rick) Osborne, and Earl Cottrell; sister in law, Sandra Cottrell; special friends, Hugh Saylor and Fred Saylor; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday (March 23) at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Friday (March 24) at the Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins, KY with family serving as Pallbearers.
